A visual identity for the town of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, created as part of a competition for a new town logo in 2024. It was created in cooperation with Adam Komůrka.
The design won 2nd place in the competition.
In the hearts of the residents of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm lies a deep pride in their small town. Each citizen associates Frenštát with something different, whether it’s family, friends, a favorite place, or the stunning natural surroundings. Every word and gesture resonates with love for this cozy corner of the Beskydy Mountains, a place rich in history, traditions, and a unique atmosphere. For them, Frenštát is not just a geographic name but a living story to which they are deeply connected, both heart and soul.
When creating the visual identity, we aimed to develop a modern visual representation of the town while honoring the traditions that Frenštát pod Radhoštěm cherishes and offers.
We seek a visual identity that seamlessly connects the town’s rich traditions with its modern present and reflects the love and pride its residents feel for their hometown.
The háček in the logo serves as a versatile graphic symbol. This visual element is not merely a static icon—it can be actively used in various contexts. As an arrow in the navigation system, it indicates direction and the path of the town. It can also be used to create patterns.
Tom, named after Tomáš Baťa, accidentally finds himself in Zlín and becomes the central guide of the film festival. His “Journey to the Present” is a narrative inspired by the work of Karel Zeman.
The claim "A Town at Heart" expresses the unique bond residents share with their home—it’s something deeply rooted in their hearts, an integral part of their identity and daily lives. It also reflects what has been said about Frenštát for generations: it is a town at the heart of the Beskydy Mountains.
Each new festival edition will introduce a new mascot, ensuring continuity through a consistent illustration style. At the same time, every mascot will bring a fresh story and unique elements to the festival’s visual identity.
