Visual identity for the 65th Zlin Film Festival
The visual identity of the Zlin Film Festival was created as part of a competition for a new visual identity for the festival’s 65th edition. The design won 2nd place in the competition.
Just like every great story on the silver screen, the visual identity for the Zlin Film Festival highlights a main hero. This year, that role belongs to the festival’s mascot, Tom the Mammoth, who takes visitors on an unforgettable adventure.
Tom, named after Tomáš Baťa, accidentally finds himself in Zlín and becomes the central guide of the film festival. His “Journey to the Present” is a narrative inspired by the work of Karel Zeman.
On the main festival poster, Tom the Mammoth is seen welcoming visitors from the rooftop of the iconic Zlín skyscraper, "Jednadvacítka."
Each new festival edition will introduce a new mascot, ensuring continuity through a consistent illustration style. At the same time, every mascot will bring a fresh story and unique elements to the festival’s visual identity.
